Interested in becoming a volunteer? This season's training dates are listed below.   All trainings are free. Please pre-register for the training sessions with either Hennepin County or Dakota County.

Learn more about WHEP, find out how we determine wetland health and learn how to conduct the sampling. Learn tips and techniques for identification. Meet other volunteers and join your team.

The Introduction to WHEP and Field Methods Training session includes time outside, so please dress for the weather and wear appropriate field clothes. If you have waders, feel free to bring them.

The Macroinvertebrate and Vegetation Identification training sessions are held indoors in a classroom and a biology lab.

Register for training when you sign up to be a volunteer on the Dakota County or Hennepin County website. Volunteer registration information is located on the "Get Involved" page. Training is not mandatory, but is highly recommended.
